yea, i saw that post too, and my favourite response to it that was by someone called Austin S.:

"Avatar was a rip-off because it had a plot with characters in it and conflict. Plus it had music in it, like Beetlejuice does. And at the very end, credits. Like Ben Hur."

generally, a bit more intelligent comments to the same pocahontas comparison here:
http://www.buzzfeed.com/reddit/james-camerons-pocohontas-err-avatar

i really liked the movie. and yes i agree, the storyline is flat. but that comparison is just dull. for instance you can do the same thing for 90% of all action movies i bet!

oh yea? :)

figured that out... just meant the image in the stripe contained in the third image should contain the stripe again, and the third image within that stripe should contain the stripe again. and so on. like... if you could zoom in indefinitely.

never mind :)

„For years we heard, that the state should not intervene. Steven Harper builds his career on that. But now the ship is going down and everybody is calling for the government.“ ... it is time do dig a big grave for neo-liberal ideas...

according to zizek there's also another consequence to that. the crisis _was_ a chance to dig that grave. however, most governments practically deactivated democracy to support the neo-liberal idea because it "needs to be done to overcome the crisis". that (apperently) engraved the idea even deeper in our brains - it is something we cannot live without.

if you have an hour and understand german get some zizek action. (i think he talks about that particular topic 30 seconds out of one hour, the rest is still interresting though...!)
